Privacy Policy

Last Updated: January 2026

The "Echo Notes" extension respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it to provide our Cloud Sync features.

1. Data Collection

We only collect data necessary to provide the synchronization service:

  • User Profile: When you sign in with Google, we access your basic profile information (email address, name, and profile picture) to identify your account.
  • Notes Data: The text content, titles, and metadata (colors, timestamps) of your notes are stored in our secure database (Google Firestore) strictly for the purpose of syncing them across your devices.

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for:

  • Syncing your notes between Chrome browsers where you are signed in.
  • Displaying your profile picture in the extension menu (so you know you are logged in).

We do not sell, share, or analyze your data for advertising purposes.

3. Data Security

Your notes are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, secured by Google's robust infrastructure. Access is restricted so that only you (authenticated via Google Sign-In) can read or write your own notes.

4. User Rights

You can revoke the extension's access to your Google Account at any time via your Google Account security settings. If you uninstall the extension, your local data is removed, but synced data may remain in the cloud until you delete your account.
